Thanks for reaching out! I'm very sorry and saddened to hear your loved ones did not have a wreath this year. We know that the mission is extremely personal and important to all involved, especially loved ones. Wreaths are sometimes removed by local visitors not truly understanding why and by whom it was placed, especially when it is a location that does not receive full coverage. I know personally that if I had sponsored a grave-specific wreath and it was not placed, I would be feeling the same way you are. The team at WAA cares deeply for the mission and all those connected to it. Please know that we consider, review, and share all feedback when planning for the upcoming year working closely with our volunteers and our internal team. We would also like to ask for the opportunity to comp this wreath to our next event, December 14, 2024. We will contact the Location Coordinator to work out the logistics of it.
It is our goal as an organization to one day place a wreath on every U.S. veterans' headstone buried all over the world. We are not there yet, however, and each participating location is run by local volunteers working hard to get the community involved to raise funds and awareness for the program. With each season more veterans are honored and remembered.
