Can I Pick the Section Where I Want to Place Wreaths at Arlington?

Modified on Thu, 16 Jul at 1:38 PM

Volunteers cannot choose a specific section of Arlington National Cemetery for wreath placement. To help ensure every veteran is honored, wreaths are distributed throughout the cemetery.

If you would like to place a wreath at a specific headstone or in a particular section of the cemetery, we recommend the following:

  • Arrive early. The cemetery gates open at 8:00 a.m. on National Wreaths Across America Day.
  • Have one person remain at the headstone or in the desired area to politely let other volunteers know you will be placing a wreath there.
  • Other members of your party can pick up a wreath from the designated distribution area and bring it to the location.
  • Once everyone has gathered, you can place the wreath together.

This approach allows you to place a wreath on a specific headstone or in a designated area while supporting Wreaths Across America's mission to ensure that every veteran laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery is remembered.
