Can I Place a Wreath at a Specific Grave or Section at Arlington National Cemetery?

To ensure that every veteran at Arlington National Cemetery is honored, wreaths are distributed throughout the cemetery. Because wreaths are placed throughout Arlington, we are unable to reserve or designate specific sections for individual volunteers or groups.

Can I still place a wreath at a specific grave?

Yes. If you would like to place a wreath at the headstone of a loved one, friend, or veteran who holds a special place in your heart, there are a few things you can do to help make this possible.

• Arrive early. The cemetery gates open at 8:00 a.m. on National Wreaths Across America Day.
• Have one person go to the desired location. A member of your group can remain near the headstone or in the area, and kindly let other volunteers know that your group will be placing a wreath there.
• Have the rest of your group pick up a wreath. They can collect a wreath from the designated distribution area and bring it back to your chosen location.
• Place the wreath together. Once everyone has gathered, your group can place the wreath and take a meaningful moment to remember and honor the veteran.

We understand how meaningful it can be to personally place a wreath at the grave of someone special. While specific locations cannot be reserved in advance, arriving early and coordinating with your group can help you place a wreath at your preferred location.
